Jason Kabel

Portfolio Manager

Jason joined BLME in October 2008 as Portfolio Manager. Jason has more than 15 years of asset management experience focusing on Money Markets and Fixed Income products. During his career to date has worked at BNP Paribas, Novartis and F&C Asset Management where he was Associate Director of Money Markets. Jason is experienced in running and setting up many different kinds of funds.

Derek Weist

Asset Management Director

Derek Weist joined BLME in August 2007 to head up the bank’s leasing business. From 2008 he worked as Head of Corporate Banking and in January 2010 he became director of BLME’s Asset Management business in Manchester Square. Prior to this Derek was CEO of ABC International Bank’s Islamic Asset Management Division (IAM), managing the Sharia compliant activity in real estate, equipment leasing and ‘alburaq’ UK home financing business. Derek began his career as a qualified chartered accountant with Ernst and Young before joining The United Bank of Kuwait Plc in 1992, transferring in 1994 to its Islamic Investment Banking Unit where he helped develop a number of successful Sharia’a compliant real estate and leasing products.

Nick Rickard

UK Institutional Sales

Nick joined BLME in June 2010 as Director, Institutional Sales. Prior to this he worked as Sales Director for a number of large asset management companies including Barclays Global Investors and Mercury Asset management. He also worked as an Investment Consultant advising Pension Funds. He has extensive knowledge of the Institutional Investment arena including Pension Funds, Charities, IFA’s and Local Authorities
