Humphrey joined
BLME in August 2006 as Chief
Executive Officer.
Humphrey has more than 30 years of
banking experience focusing on
treasury and global markets and
during his career to date has worked
at J. Henry Schroder Wagg, Barclays
Merchant Bank, Barclays de Zoete
Wedd and West LB where he held
positions including CEO, Managing
Director, General Manager, and Head
of Global Financial Markets.
Humphrey is experienced in
building new functions and product
areas, and has managed start up
businesses within both BZW and West
LB as well as founding his own
business in 2002.

Richard joined
BLME in January 2007 as Finance
Director. Having
qualified as a Chartered Accountant
with KPMG in 1980, Richard’s early
career in Investment Banking was
spent with Chase Manhattan, Credit
Agricole and Bankers Trust. He then spent 10 years at
Robert Fleming & Co setting up their
Global Equities Derivatives business
which took him to Tokyo and 3 years
in Hong Kong with Jardine Fleming. Richard also has experience
with start up companies and in
Private Equity with Legal and
General Ventures.

Nigel joined BLME
in January 2007 as Director and Head
of Markets Division. Prior to
this he was Head of European Sales
for West LB’s Global Markets Unit
which included Treasury, Capital
Markets and Emerging Markets.
Nigel began his career at Barclays
Merchant Bank, subsequently BZW
where he became Head of Trading for
Barclays Swaps and Options European
business, based in London. He
then spent some time in New York
where he took over the derivatives
trading operations for Barclays.

Martin joined
BLME in May 2007 as Head of Credit
Risk. Prior to this Martin was
at the Financial Services Authority
working within their Risk Review
Department. Martin began his
banking career at Barclays Plc where
he became Head of Credit & Research
of Barclays Tokyo. He later
joined the WestLB Group where he
undertook a number of senior credit
risk related roles including Head of
Credit for non US corporates before
moving on to UFJ International
London where he headed up the Credit
Risk Department.

Mike joined BLME
in May 2007 as Head of Risk
Management. Prior to this Mike was
at West LB where he was Head of
Business Management with core
responsibility for business
development support and front office
risk management. Mike has over 20
years experience in finance and
started his career at Barclays Bank
International and has previously
worked for Chemical Bank, Mizuho
(then IBJ International) where he
was Head of Fixed Income Risk
Management and Standard Chartered
Bank (London) where he was Chief
Financial Officer/Head of Business
Management for Global Treasury.

Patrick joined
BLME in April 2007 as Head of
Distribution and Structuring within
the Markets division. Prior to this
Patrick was at West LB where he was
Head of Sales (Europe and MENA
region) for Liability Structuring
and Derivatives. Patrick started
his presence in the Middle East as a
diplomat in Bahrain after which he
changed his career to finance and
for more than 20 years he has been
covering the MENA region. Patrick
has worked with a variety of
international financial institutions
in both sales and managerial
positions and has worked in London,
Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo
and Geneva. Patrick is a derivative
specialist in FX, interest rates and
credit and has also been exposed to
Emerging Markets in Eastern Europe
and Asia.

Natalie joined
BLME in April 2007 as Head of
Product Management. Prior to this Natalie was at
Barclays Capital where she worked as
a senior consultant on the Basel II
programme. Natalie has worked in international
financial organisations such as ABN
Amro and Gulf International Bank. She began her career in
Islamic Finance whilst working in
Bahrain, Kuwait and Dubai during the
1990’s. Natalie is an accredited
trainer for the IFQ exam which she
teaches at BPP in London and CCL in
Dubai.

Derek joined BLME
in August 2007 as Director and Head
of Corporate Banking. Prior to this Derek was CEO of ABC International
Bank’s Islamic Asset Management
Division (IAM), managing the Sharia
compliant activity in real estate,
equipment leasing and ‘alburaq’ UK
home financing business having
previously been Director of Asset
Management with ABC. Derek began his career as a
qualified chartered accountant with
Ernst and Young before joining The
United Bank of Kuwait Plc in 1992,
transferring in 1994 to its Islamic
Investment Banking Unit where he
helped develop a number of
successful Sharia’a compliant real
estate and leasing products.

Massoud joined
BLME in April 2007 as Director of
Corporate Banking. Massoud has many years
experience gained across a number of
industries, advisory and financial
service sectors. He spent 10 years managing
investments for global products at
ICI/Zeneca, before moving to
strategy consultancy with AT Kearney
and Integrum. Massoud then moved to financial
services when he joined BDIC as a
corporate finance advisor and later
on becoming involved in structured
debt with European American Capital.

Allan joined BLME
in October 2007 as Director and Head
of Property Finance. Prior to this Allan worked at
institutions including DG Bank,
Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co and
Landesbank Baden Wuerttemberg. Allan is a past President and
Honorary Life Member of the
Association of Property Bankers and
continues to be involved with its
activities.

Rodney joined BLME in August 2007 as
Director of Trade Finance. Prior to this Rodney worked
for Natixis and Standard Chartered
Bank as Head of their Structured
Export Finance group. Rodney has extensive
experience in the international
arena handling a wide variety of
transactions across the world and
has been active throughout the broad
spectrum of trade finance and risk
mitigation. His
main area of concentration is
originating and structuring
transactions to support
telecommunications, pulp and paper
and capital goods suppliers in their
sales of equipment and services as
well as advising clients on
financing of trade.

Philip Nias
joined BLME in September 2007 as
Head of Project Finance. Prior to
this Philip was Head of Project
Finance at the London Branch of
Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL).
Philip joined BNL from Bankgesellschaft Berlin where he was
co-head of the project finance
team. Philip began his banking
career in the project finance team
at Hill Samuel Bank and has many
years experience in both advisory
and lending in the UK and
internationally across a wide range
of sectors. Before banking, Philip
practised as a civil and structural
engineer with WS Atkins.

Mark joined BLME in September 2007 as Senior Leasing Manager. Prior to this, Mark worked for a number of institutions including Citigroup, Rabo Bank, ABC, Siemens, Lloyds Bank and Woodchester Credit Lyonnais. Latterly Mark has specialised in asset/equipment management, but he also has experience in originations, risk and business development.

Nigel joined BLME
in February 2007 as Head of
Compliance. Prior to this he
worked within the Islamic investment
banking group at WestLB having
previously worked within their
investment banking, mortgage
origination, asset management,
corporate finance and private equity
groups. During his
career Nigel has spent a number of
years working in both the retail and
wholesale sides of the industry and
has also worked at Fidelity, where
he gained experience of fund
management, concentrating eventually
on the investment arena.

William joined
BLME in February 2007 as Head of
Information Technology. Prior to
this William has worked in a variety
of institutions gaining over 20
years experience covering a broad
range of business areas, with the
last 10 years being specifically in
the financial services arena. William is experienced in
working in the capital markets and
has worked as IT Director for
Norinchukin (a Japanese government
related financial institution),
where he was also responsible for
strategic projects in London.

Tim joined BLME
in October 2007 as Director – Head
of Finance and Accounting. Prior to this Tim had spent
time at Cantor Fitzgerald London
where he was Financial Controller. Tim began his career at KPMG
as part of the auditing function. He has since worked within
the Finance function of several
Investment Banks; Swiss Bank
Corporation, NatWest Capital
Markets, CIBC World Markets, before
heading up the finance team ay UFJ
International.

Simon joined BLME
in May 2007 as Head of Operations
and is responsible for overseeing
the incoming/outgoing payment
processes and managing the flow of
documentation against transaction
agreements. Prior to this Simon has held senior
operational positions at Sabanci
Bank Plc and Ahli United Bank (UK)
Plc, London. He
has over 20 years banking experience
during which he has covered a wide
range of financial operations
including Trade Finance, Letters of
Credit, Loans Administration and
Settlements.

Beverley joined
BLME in November 2007 as Head of
Human Resources. Prior to this
Beverley was at the London branch of
Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (part of
BNP Paribas Group) where she was
Head of Human Resources.
During her career to date Beverley
has worked at Banca Popolare di
Milano and Banque Arab et
Internationale d’Investissement (BAii)
(part of BNP Paribas group).
With over 19 years of Banking
experience, including Leasing and
Relocation Finance, Beverley
migrated to Human Resources in 1991.
Beverley has specific international
experience in Change, TUPE,
Diversity and Continued Professional
Development.
