The Trade Finance team specialises in providing Sharia’a compliant finance to UK and European businesses for the import, export and storage of goods and commodities.
The team has considerable expertise at arranging structured trade and inventory financing solutions in accordance with Sharia’a principles. We have developed a number of groundbreaking structures that enable BLME to participate in a variety of trade-related activities, including:
- receivables financing
- inventory financing
- unfunded participations in structured trade transactions
- issuing Letters of Credit and guarantees
- confirming and negotiating Letters of Credit from Islamic banks
|
Examples of our transactions include the financing of scrap steel for a UK-based steel recycling company; financing the export of vehicles to the Middle East; and financing the transfer of a football player from one UK Premiership club to another.
